USTA sanctioned "Jr. Tournaments" Instructions on how to enter:
Go to your computer and type in pnw.usta.com. This will bring up all the USTA Jr. sponsored tournaments in Oregon and Washington for 2013.
Then click: "tennis link/ tournaments", then click on "junior tournaments". Run off a page for each month up to December 2012. Circle 2-4 you can attend after talking with Jim.
Brady goes for a forehand approach shot in last summer's local junior tournament at Centennial H.S.
The USTA has three skill levels and five age groupings: The age groupings are: 10 & under, 12's, 14's, 16's, and finally 18 & under.
The three skill levels are as follows:
1) Novice Division - kids who have taken lessons for 1-2 years. 2) Challengers Division - had 2-4 years tennis experience. 3) Champs Division - had 4-5 years tennis experience.
When you win 2 tournaments in your division you should move up to the next level. Check with Jim for your correct level before entering a tournament.
You have to become a USTA Jr. member to enter. This usually costs $30/year.
